Our Divine Download for September 17, 2024 is Dwelling In Truth "I stand in the light of truth." from The Gateway Oracle Cards. We've all heard that the truth will set us free. But who's truth are we talking about? The thing about truth is that it is simultaneously fixed yet subjective. There are certain things that most, if not all of us can and do believe to be true. But, there are other things that may be true for some, and not for others. St. Augustine said "The truth is like a lion; you don't have to defend it. Let it loose; it will defend itself." There's a line in Jesus Christ Superstar which states "We both have truths, are mine the same as yours?" And sometimes our truths aren't the same, and don't align. Other times, they're relatively indisputable (like the truth of gravity for instance, which only a a very small sect of people will dispute or argue). At the end of the day, when your truths are rooted in and of the light, they don't need to be defended, and it doesn't matter if anyone else accepts them. You can merely stand in the light of what is true for you, and that's all you ever need do. You don't have to convince, and certainly don't get to decide what is or isn't true for someone else. It is neither your job or your responsibility, thank goodness. Be content with and willing to accept and defend your own truths. Be willing to examine what you have believed to be true as well, because sometimes what was once true for us, no longer is over time (and that's okay - truth can evolve, and when we're willing to acknowledge the evolution of our truth, we empower ourselves and bring even more light into our lives and the lives of those around us). Sometimes people get caught up in the "lies" that others tell. But are they really lying? Or are they simply speaking from what they believed to be true at the time? When we are dwelling in our own truth and standing in the light of our own truth, we are able to look at everyone else and their experience and expression of their truth through the clearest possible lens. So stand tall and proud in the light of your truth!
