Spiritual Priorities

Our Divine Download for January 6, 2021 is Religion And Spirituality from the Butterfly Oracle for Life Changes. Often times when we enter a brand new year, we set goals and make resolutions in certain areas of our life. While I am not a fan of the word resolution and it's associated temporary new year connotations, it's always helpful to narrow your focus and set specific goals within various areas of your life. But please, please, please do not neglect the important area of religion and spirituality! What are your spiritual goals this year? Where would you like to focus in the spiritual arena? What do you want your spiritual experience to be? How do you want your spiritual life to look? To go? To grow? How do you want to prioritize your spiritual life this year? Even if you've never thought about your spirituality as a separate or important area of your life in the past, or paid it much attention at all, that doesn't matter. It's a brand spankin' new year and you can absolutely start fresh now! Your can prioritize it now, today, this week, this year! Energy flows where attention (and intention!) goes. So if your spirituality hasn't felt super great, has felt absent, or anything short of uplifting and inspiring, it is likely time to pay it some attention. Nothing will change without attention, focus, and action. It doesn't have to be a lot. It doesn't have to be overwhelming. No one is telling you to convert to Buddhism or joint a convent (unless you are getting that message from a higher calling or authority). It does not have to be all or nothing. There are simple subtle changes that you can make in your day to day life which will enhance and strengthen your spirituality. Start with paying some attention to an putting some focus on your spirituality. How does it feel? How do you want it to feel? Once you have answers to those questions, it will be easier to chart a course to get from where you are to where you want to be. Rome wasn't built in a day, and your spirituality and any accompanying enlightenment are not likely to be built in a day either. It is a life long process born out of life long practice. It's up to you to decide how that process looks and that practice goes.
