Our chakras are the energy centers of our body and our heart chakra, as the name suggest is located in the center of our chest, similarly to where our physical heart is located. Our heart chakra is the emotional clearing house of our chakra system and has to do with love, compassion, harmony, relationships, and healing. The heart chakra is believed to be the link between our minds, our bodies, and our souls. You can activate this chakra by sending loving healing energy from your heart - you can even envision it as green and blue waves, green for healing and blue for peace. Take a few moments to connect with this energy center within your body and send these energies to everyone and everything, unconditionally. The love that you send will be returned to you for your own healing. The heart chakra also ties into and can represent grief because our physical hearts are so intrinsically tied to our lungs. Grief is an emotion that is often stirred up during the holiday season causing us to struggle with it sometimes through the duration of the winter months and beyond. Love is also the way through grief. Our heart chakras function best when we are acknowledging and accepting our emotions and taking the time to experience them as they come up. When we shove our emotions down and refuse to honor and accept them, we are altering the health of our heart chakra.
